AP® Exam Fee Reductions
Fee reductions are available but must be applied for on an annual basis.
You must submit your application and supporting documentation to your school site contact (listed below) BEFORE you submit your payment on this site. Approval may take several days so submit your application and materials early! Fee Reduction status does NOT waive late payment fees!
To apply:
Download the form at the link below and review the eligibility criteria on page 2. Then submit the form with the appropriate supporting documentation to the appropriate contact person at your school. (See below) IF APPROVED, you will receive a discount code that will reduce your exam fees when you complete the online exam payment form. Payment of the balance due can be submitted online or mailed in.
Deadlines: Fee Reduction students must adhere to the same exam ordering and payment deadlines as all other students. Please review deadlines HERE Processing of your application may take several days, you therefore need to plan to submit the application EARLY to be able to make the deadlines.
School Site contacts for application submission:
If you attend a school campus that has both Fall AND Spring AP® courses (and therefore Fall AND Spring AP® Registration), you will need to apply ONLY in the Fall. You will automatically be approved then also for the Spring and will be able to request a current fee reduction code to apply to your Spring AP® Exam payments.
Regardless of your fee reduction status, you MUST ALSO Activate the exam on https://myap.collegeboard.org AND submit payment. BOTH steps need to be completed to have an AP® exam ordered for you.
Fee reduction applications submitted during the Late Payment period will be liable for the late payment fees.
NO applications will be accepted once the Spring LATE Payment period closes.
