Prepare for your DIGITAL AP Exams
The following exam subjects will be administered as Digital Exams in 2024:
- AP Computer Science Principles.
- AP English Language and Composition.
- AP English Literature and Composition.
- AP European History.
- AP Seminar.
- AP U.S. History.
- AP World History: Modern
- Note that AP Chinese and AP Japanese are also administered as digital exams but with a different exam app unique to the language. Students were sent specific information for these unique exams via email.
Before exam day, students should make sure to:
- Check their exam date on MyAP (http://myap.collegeboard.org)
- Beginning in late April, check where to report for their exam based on their school of enrollment at http://sduhsdapexams.com Exam Day Info
- make sure that BEFORE exam day they know their College Board MyAP login username (which is the email address linked to their account) and password - and practice logging in! (There will not be time on exam day to contact the College Board for a reset of a password).
- Digital exams will be administered on students’ school-issued Chromebooks. To make sure that their exam saves and can be completed successfully, they must bring the Chromebook on exam day in fully charged status AND make sure to have checked for updates and restarted it the week before the exam to ensure the most current College Board/ETS exam app installation. Directions for checking for updates and restarting are linked here.
On exam day, students should make sure to:

- Bring a CURRENT Picture ID (School ID or Driver's license)
- Bring pens/pencils
- Bottled water and a snack to access during the exam break
- Bring your assigned school-issued Chromebook in FULLY CHARGED STATE (bring the cord!)

- Students will see the exam app, BlueBook App, when they are LOGGED OFF on their Chromebook, under the Apps icon in the bottom left corner. It will be identified as the Bluebook App.

Getting Students Ready for Digital AP Exams
2. Try the digital AP Exam preview questions.
As soon as Bluebook is downloaded to a student’s device, they should sign in with their College Board account and explore the digital AP Exam preview questions.
Previews allow students to see sample AP Exam questions in Bluebook and try out the testing tools. The questions aren’t timed or scored.
Students planning to test with assistive technology should answer the preview questions using the relevant technology.
Students who can’t access the preview questions on their device should notify their school site AP coordinator as soon as possible to make sure their device is ready for exam day.
Students should be ready to:
- Sign in to their College Board account. You will not be able to reset your password on exam day! If they cannot log in, they will be unable to participate in the exam.
- Read most instructions on their device—students will hear only a few instructions from their proctor before they start testing.
- Take their break when the Bluebook exam app tells them to do so.
- Use digital equivalents of the accommodations they use on paper exams.
